Hey its Ken (pictured below). You are probably either one of my parents who I made this for or clicked on the link in my bio. Incase you don't know me, I am a 23 year old who WAS trying to make it in the big city working my first job in market research for a tech company but who has since moved back into their childhood house due to everything currently going on. Obviously there's a lot going on. I was looking for a little side passion project anyways and a way to actually use the education my parents spent so much money on. I went to Cornell and double majored in Sociology and Government, and minored in Business, Law and Society, and Inequality. While I would have loved to learn more skills that would actually have helped me in my job that sustains my life (which I love btw), I mostly just learned how to write. I really want to do something tangible with everything I learned. I think the most valuable thing I got from my education was critical thinking (lol) and exposure to different perspectives. From a young age I was always incredibly frustrated by (what I recently learned is properly referred to as...) political polarization. I really hate how people have very strong opinions on things that sometimes seem to just be a misunderstanding. I think one of the primary things that we need right now is general understanding of each other's grievances. SO I'm just going to try to do my part to plainly explain certain issues or what have you in the most casual but academic way. Let's just all agree that there will never be an absence of bias ever. But just to qualify myself a little....I come from a very conservative family and went to a very liberal school and I have a personal issue of always being quite objective on issues because I have a relative understanding of both sides. Also I think I can be clear and blunt (at least when I write) so hopefully this blog can be of help to someone. I'm going to try to use as many sources as I can remember/access from my classes, but a lot of it will be my general understanding and observations, so if you see something that is *particularly wrong kindly slide into my dms...or I guess comment? This is a foreign platform please excuse me as I figure it out.
